01 Feb Vip Day For Competition Winners
The winning team from the recent ‘Question of Sport’ fundraiser for the Town Foundation enjoyed a day to remember at the recent npower Championship home win over Crystal Palace!
11 year-old Billy Charlton was a member of the winning fans team at the event in mid-December and he brought his team along to the game, where they were treated to a tour of the Stadium and full hospitality in the Club’s Boardroom.
Former Premier League referee Jeff Winter, who acted as the MC on the night of the quiz in December, and quiz organiser Andy Shuter also popped in to say hello and were all congratulated on playing their part in raising over £1,000 on the evening!
As a special treat, Town Chairman Dean Hoyle took Billy down to the changing room after the final whistle to meet his very own Man of the Match, James Vaughan!
Young Billy also took home the Foundation ‘Question of Sport’ Trophy, with plans in place for this to become an annual event!
The Town Foundation’s Corporate Fundraising Officer Mandy Taylor commented:
“This VIP day out was richly deserved by all the people that made the inaugural ‘Question of Sport’ Foundation fundraiser possible.
“On behalf of the charity I would like to thank everyone that donated towards the incredible total; it really is appreciated. The money we received from this fundraiser will help us deliver important projects across our region that will ‘make a difference’ in the lives of youngsters in our community.â€
