22 Sep Brass Factor Supports Foundation
The fourth annual ‘Brass Factor’ event in Holmfirth will this season raise money for the Town Foundation, Huddersfield Town’s official registered charity.
Six brass bands – Hade Edge Band, Delph Band, Emley Band, Hade Edge Youth Band, Lindley Band and Hebden Bridge Band – will face off on in a talent show at the Holmfirth Picturedrome on Saturday 23 November 2013, with attendees on the evening voting for which band’s 20 minute spell they enjoyed the most.
The audience vote is combined with the verdict of a judging panel, fronted by head judge Kevin Wadsworth. One of brass banding’s most well-known musicians, he won seven National Championships and six British Open Championship titles.
Kevin will be joined by a special celebrity guest this year – Matthew Corbett of Sooty and Sweep fame!
The event’s organiser Alex Bray, who has organised the event, is pictured above with Town Foundation Trustee Dean Hoyle.
Mandy Taylor, Corporate Fundraising Officer for the Town Foundation, commented:
“We never cease to be amazed at the goodwill and generosity shown by our local community. The charity has really captured the hearts and minds of so many people and we are absolutely privileged to have been chosen as the charity of choice for this absolutely fantastic event.â€
Event organiser Alex Bray added:
“The format of the ‘talent show’ is simple – it’s pure family packaged entertainment. All the elements are geared towards interaction – from the artist on stage to the judges and presenters, and most importantly of all – the audience themselves. The atmosphere at one of these events is unbelievable – everyone becomes a part of it.â€
