27 Jan Dalton Pupils Get Surprise Team Talk!
Pupils at the Town Foundation’s ‘Early Kick-Off’ breakfast club at Dalton J & I School got a big surprise on Tuesday morning when Huddersfield Town Manager Chris Powell dropped in to say hello!
Chris, accompanied by Assistant Manager Alex Dyer, joined regular breakfast club visitors Dean Hoyle, Joel Lynch and Sean Scannell at Dalton to help celebrate National Breakfast Week.Â
National Breakfast Week highlights the importance of a healthy and nutritious start to the day and the Town Foundation breakfast clubs, such as the one at Dalton, now serves over 1,000 meals every morning across 16 schools.Â
Since the Town Foundation’s inception, over 215,000 breakfasts have now been served to local children.
Powell – alongside Hoyle, Dyer, Lynch and Scannell – signed autographs for the delighted kids and helped to serve breakfast alongside the volunteers and staff from Foundation supporters such as Abzorb and Robertson Baxter.
Chris explained:
“We all had a great morning with the pupils at Dalton School this morning – they were certainly full of energy after their breakfast!
“The Town Foundation does some absolutely superb work to improve the lives of youngsters in our community and it’s fantastic that National Breakfast Week gives us the platform to showcase this, as well as highlight the importance of a healthy breakfast.
“So much credit has to go to the volunteers helping to serve the breakfasts every morning, as well as everyone that has donated to the charity to make this possible.â€
Stephen Baxter and Greg Robertson, Directors at Robertson Baxter – a supporter of the Town Foundation for over two years – added:
“We are delighted to support the Town Foundation both personally and as a company. Its simple aim to help improve the quality of life for young people across Huddersfield really resonated with us and provided the ideal opportunity to give something back to benefit young people in the community who need it the most.â€
