09 Apr Team 3 Towers
A group of 21 Huddersfield Town supporters, plus support staff, is going the extra mile in support of the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign and the Town Foundation – or 333 miles to be precise!
Ahead of Town’s Pedal for Pounds 6 bike ride (click HERE), members of the black, red, pink, bronze and white teams are coming together to cycle from Paris to Huddersfield before joining the other 270 riders to complete the ride to Blackpool and back on the final day of the season.
The trip to France allows the ‘Team 3 Towers’ cyclists to visit the graves of a number of Town players who lost their lives in the First World War; Larrett Roebuck, Sidney James, Jack Cameron, Charles Randell and Leigh Roose.
Setting off on 26 April, the ride starts with the leg from Paris Gare Du Nord Station to the Eiffel Tower. After almost four days visiting the graves across France and Belgium, the team will make their way back to PPG Canalside on day five after a total of 333 miles! ‘Team 3 Towers’ is raising money for the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign, Town Foundation and Help for Heroes.Â
Town’s Supporter Partnerships Manager Robyn Deegan commented:
“This is a superb fan-driven initiative that will raise valuable funds for the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign, among other worthy causes.
“Many of the cyclists involved are experienced veterans of previous ‘Pedal for Pounds’ rides and I’m sure they will be up to this additional challenge! The fact that they can incorporate visits to the graves of the fallen Huddersfield Town personnel is a lovely gesture also.â€
Mandy Taylor, Fundraising Manager for the Town Foundation, added:
“It’s great news that ‘Team 3 Towers’ has incorporated the Town Foundation as one of the causes that will benefit from its ride; on behalf of the charity I would like to thank all the cyclists for their support.â€
