22 Mar Plans Afoot For The Foundation Game
Plans are now finalised for the annual Town Foundation game when Huddersfield Town hosts Birmingham City in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday 23 April 2016.Â
The team at the registered charity, which is based at PPG Canalside, has been working hard to make the match day a game to remember, with the pinnacle being the players wearing the special magenta and white striped shirt to take on the Blues!Â
The shirt will feature the names of 516 Town fans, who each paid £10 to the charity for the right.Â
A limited number of replica Town Foundation shirts are on sale now leading up to the game and on match day, priced at £40 for adults and £32 for juniors. The replica shirts are expected to sell out, so please don’t delay; visit the Stadium Superstore on match day or click HERE to buy online now via htafcmegastore.com.Â
If you get your shirt, please Tweet us with a picture of you wearing it using #htafcsnaps to @htafcdotcom and @townfoundation; we’ll retweet our favourites!
There will also be a special ‘selfie square’ outside the Stadium Superstore from 2.15pm, where you can get a picture in your shirt with a Town player!
The money generated will go towards the charity’s aim of improving the lives of children and young people in the local area through projects such as the ‘Early Kick-Off’ breakfast club initiative. Â
Town’s ‘Give Us An H’ match day programme will be priced at £2.50 this weekend, with the extra 50p going straight to the Town Foundation too!
Many of the ‘Early Kick-Off’ breakfast club children are involved on the day too, with 80 taking part in a pre-match lap of honour and others forming the Guard of Honour as the teams enter the field!
The Town Foundation’s Fundraising Manager Mandy Taylor explained:Â
“Plans are really coming together to make the ‘Foundation Game’ on 23 April 2016 a memorable one.Â
“We’re hoping to ‘Paint the Town Pink’ with our partners Johnstone’s Paints by PPG, who have shown great goodwill and support for our charity. That includes the players and fans wearing the special magenta and white striped shirt, the match day programme GUAH, the flags for the Guard of Honour and much more!Â
“We’ll have hundreds of kids coming from our ‘Early Kick-Off’ breakfast clubs and we really hope they enjoy the game!â€
