15 Sep Terry The Terrier Represents Town Foundation In Local Fun Run
Huddersfield Town mascot Terry the Terrier took part in a 1k fun run at the Kirklees Flame Event on behalf of the Town Foundation.
The Flame Event, organised by the Yorkshire Sport Foundation and Kirklees Council, was developed for people with a disability and their families to come along and try different activities. They also had an opportunity to meet mascots from different sports clubs in the local area.
The mascots all took to the grass for a 1k fun run on Thursday 27 July 2017 as Crow’s Nest Park in Dewsbury, racing to become the local champion.
Terry met a number of the young children and their families and put smiles on faces both before and after the run.
This was one of many activities that the Town Foundation has taken part in, with the charities aim of making a difference to youngsters within the local area and once again enforced the one club, one community ethos.
Town Foundation Fundraising Manager Julie Sheffield commented:
“It was great to see so many happy children at Crow’s Nest Park when they saw that Terry the Terrier was taking part.
“There was a lot of support for Terry during the run and the children were delighted to meet him.
“It’s fantastic that we were able to bring Terry the Terrier to the event and we want to continue to help put smiles on children’s faces in the future.â€
