An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced and qualified candidate to join the Huddersfield Town Foundation in the role of Disability Development Coach.
The overall aim of the Huddersfield Town Foundation is to help improve the quality of life for people across Huddersfield and the West Yorkshire area; the role of Disability Development Coach is therefore one in which you can truly make a difference to the lives of many people.
In this role you will support the development and implementation of the Huddersfield Town Foundation’s Premier League and BT Disability funded programmes, to enable adults and children with learning difficulties and/or disabilities to participate in sport and physical activity.
This is a role in which you will have the opportunity to develop partnerships with disabled people’s organisations, and SEND and mainstream schools, and truly make a difference to the lives of many people who experience difficulties participating in mainstream activity.
As this is a new role, you will be able to demonstrate your creativity in meeting the needs of a variety of participants, giving equality of access to all.
Candidates must have previous relevant experience of working with people with disabilities, combined with a background in a sport or similar environment. As you will be responsible for developing funded programmes, the ability to plan and deliver within National Curriculum guidelines, and to evidence the success and impact of your work, will be crucial.
Applicants must hold relevant coaching qualifications in Sport at Level 2 or higher, hold a current First Aid certificate and be able to travel to various locations throughout Kirklees. Candidates must have a positive and professional attitude, and excellent interpersonal skills, to be able to perform well in this role.
