07 Nov FRAIZER CAMPBELL RETURNS TO PRIMARY SCHOOL

Huddersfield-born Frazier Campbell surprised all the pupils and teachers at Lowerhouses Junior Infant and Early Years School’s ‘Early Kick-Off Breakfast Club’ when he turned up to help serve breakfasts to the pupils.

Fraizer was determined to visit his old Primary School’s ‘Early Kick-Off Breakfast Club’ when he signed for HTAFC this season. The striker wanted to witness the incredible work the Huddersfield Town Foundation does in his local community.

The Huddersfield Town Foundation ambassador threw himself into the experience and was on-hand to assist staff in making and serving breakfast to the 30 pupils that attend the ‘Early-Kick Off Breakfast Club’.

The pupils had the opportunity to have a healthy and nutritious breakfast with Frazier, ask questions and gain a greater understanding into his life as a footballer and time at Lowerhouses Primary School.

The 32-year-old joined in the Lowerhouses morning ‘Super Movers’ activity dance with all the pupils that attend the Primary School to encourage an active ethos which includes the ‘wake-up and shake-up’ for the day ahead.

The ‘Early Kick-Off Breakfast Club’ initiative launched in 2012 with the aim to improve the quality of life for young people in our community by growing their aspirations and achievements.

The initiative ensures children across Kirklees start their academic day with a healthy and nutritious breakfast!

The Huddersfield Town Foundation provides the ‘Early Kick-Off Breakfast Club’ initiative to 41 schools across Kirklees and has served 1.5 million breakfasts since its launch.

The ‘Early Kick-off Breakfast Club’ relies solely on supporter donations to keep afloat this much-needed initiative.

It costs the Huddersfield Town Foundation £140,000 a year to operate this initiative and to stop children going hungry!

Frazier Campbell, Huddersfield Town Striker, commented:

“It was nice being back where I went to school when I was younger and seeing all the kids enjoying a healthy breakfast.

“It was special seeing the school helping the community just like the Town Foundation do.

“I wanted to come and get involved because this is my school. This is my community and I’ll try and help brighten someone’s day wherever I can.”
