17 Jan FOUNDATION CONTINUING ITS SUPPORT OF LOCAL PARTNER SCHOOLS

The Huddersfield Town Foundation is proud to have continued delivery in its local partner schools throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

This could not have been achieved without the support of every student, parent and teacher involved, and for that we’d like to say thank you.

Since the start of the current academic year in September 2020, our team have delivered the Premier League Primary Stars programme to 1296 primary aged children.

In that same time period, we have regularly delivered our Steps to Success programme in 10 Secondary schools across Kirklees.

Both programmes provide classroom support in the form of workshops, resources and one to one interventions, giving young people the best possible chance of fulfilling their potential.

In addition to the Educational offer, the Town Foundation is also continuing to supply every one of its Breakfast Clubs that remains open to vulnerable children and those of key workers.

Following the announcement of ‘lockdown three’ in the first week of January, we have been working on provision for home learning and shall share this shortly.

This will include a range of pre-recorded lessons, resources for parents to use, physical activity challenges and more. As well as our digital offer we are also still supporting nine schools per week with face-to-face delivery.

Whether you are a teacher or parent, if you would like your school to be involved in any of the Foundation’s education programmes please get in touch.

Our team of qualified coaches can offer a range of educational and behavioural interventions including support with reading, maths, building resilience or improving self-esteem.

We can also deliver PE, staff CPD or simply just provide an extra pair of hands in school to support where required during the current lockdown.
