JUNE HALF TERM CAMP SEES YOUNGSTERS PLAY FOOTBALL AND HAVE FUN

Last week saw the Huddersfield Town Foundation entertain local children at Leeds Road Sports Complex during the school holidays!

More than 50 children between the ages of five and 11 attended the four-day event, which was blessed with sunshine and warm weather throughout.

The Town Foundation is grateful to have received funding for 32 places from Kirklees Council and the Department for Education. These places were allocated to children at partner schools who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend such provision.

The first day began with icebreaker activities and an introduction to the coaches, who also set out their expectations for the week ahead.

Then followed four blocks of one-hour activity, with small-sided games, drills and challenges all on the agenda. There was also time for a period of structured free play each day, giving the boys and girls an opportunity to be creative.

At the end of the camp, every child received a certificate signed by Huddersfield Town head coach Carlos Corberán and club mascot Terry the Terrier for their participation.

Medals were also awarded for particular categories of achievement, making it a week to remember for everybody involved.

The Foundation will be running a similar football offering during the summer school holidays, with full times and dates to be confirmed in due course.
