10 Jul TFS raise £5,746.18 for the Foundation
Club partner helps raise money for the Town Foundation
A dedicated team of cyclists, comprising of staff, associates and friends from Town’s partner Total Foodservice and the Town Foundation’s Mandy Taylor has raised £5746.18 for the Foundation
During May the team completed the ‘West Yorkshire Cycle Route’ during a rainy Saturday and Sunday, which roughly circles the county boundary – including some challenging rides through the Pennine hills around Marsden, Hebden Bridge and Haworth.
On Sunday the team was joined by Vicki Davenport on Club Partner The Pink Link Ltd and Angie Teal, who cycled on a tandem from Howarth to Huddersfield to show their support for the charity.
Jason Sheard, Total Foodservice’s Company Purchasing Manager, commented:
“It’s absolutely brilliant that we’ve raised so much money for the Foundation,†he said.
“This is our 4th year of raising charity funds through various bike rides and this was definitely the biggest challenge yet. I think many of the team underestimated just how challenging the ride would be and coupled with torrential rain on day one, the hills just never seemed to end. The team has mostly not changed over the 4 years and it is their dedication which makes these rides fantastic events to be part of. Huge thanks to every member of the team and all of our supporters in helping us to raise our biggest amount yetâ€
Managing Director of TFS, Simon Howarth added:
“This is a fantastic amount raised for the Foundation and specifically the Early Kick Off Breakfast Clubs which Total Foodservice is already so heavily involved in already. The team have done brilliantly to raise such a huge amount, smashing previous year’s totals, and all in spite of a struggling economy. Jason has dedicated many hours to organising the bike ride on the company’s behalf and special thanks must go to him for his efforts. I have heard from everyone involved that it was incredibly challenging but spirits were kept high and ultimately the entire team enjoyed the ride, proud in what they had achieved.â€
