24 Jan JOIN OUR COMMUNITY AS A FOUNDATION DEGREE STUDENT FROM SEPTEMBER 2021!

If you’re interested in a career in sport, one of the Huddersfield Town Foundation’s two foundation level degree programmes may be just right for you!

From September 2021 the Town Foundation will deliver one course in Community Football Coaching & Development and another in Sports Coaching & Development.

Run in partnership with the University of South Wales and EFL Trust, both two-year courses give students a perfect mix of classroom-based learning and first-hand experience.

Students will be guided through the course content in a mixture of seminars and workshops at the John Smith’s Stadium, with practical elements taking place at Leeds Road Sports Complex.

In addition to the course content, students will gain coaching experience on the Town Foundation’s community programmes across Kirklees: including national programmes like Premier League Kicks, half-term sports camps and Mental Health Football sessions.

Furthermore, there will be the opportunity to undertake further sporting qualifications such as FA courses, First Aid courses and Health & Safety qualifications.

The courses are open to anybody of at least 18 years of age as of 1 September 2021, with the below entry requirements applicable to both.

On completion of the two-year foundation level course, students will have the opportunity to undertake a further year of study to turn their qualification into a full BSc (Honours) degree.

Potential career options are vast, with previous students taking on roles in PE teaching, sports and/or football coaching and Sports Management & Administration to name a few.

Expressions of interest for either the Community Football Coaching & Development or Sports Coaching route should be directed to brad.fox@htafcfoundation.com in the first instance.

They will then be able to give some more information on the course content before inviting you to attend a formal interview.

Once the interview process is complete, our team can support in applying to the programme, which is done via the University of South Wales’ website.
