20 Aug GET YOUR RUNNING SHOES ON FOR THE TOWN FOUNDATION!
Following the success of last year’s virtual Great North Run, the Huddersfield Town Foundation is set to take on its own relay style event again this year!
Supporters aged 16 and above are encouraged to join our staff team at one of several points along the 13.1 mile route on Sunday 12 September 2021.
The event, which will be known as the ‘Great Foundation Relay’, has been designed to help raise funds in support the Foundation’s work across Kirklees.
Starting at St Peter’s Church in Hartshead, the route will take runners down into Mirfield before travelling along Huddersfield Road onto Cooper Bridge.
From there, it’s a journey to Bradley and down onto the main road until they get to Leeds Road Sports Complex, when the runners will cut through the playing fields and onto the canal.
They will then run adjacent to the canal until they reach the Premier Inn in Aspley, before returning to St. Andrew’s Road and finishing at the John Smith’s Stadium via Bradley Mills.
Supporters are welcome to take on as much of the distance as they wish, whether that be one mile, five miles, the entirety or anything in between!
Parking is available towards the start of the route at the Mirfield Free Grammar, WF14 9EZ, with a meeting time of 9.30am.
From there, runners will be transported to different points along the route dependant on their distance preference.
To take part, please register your details via the dedicated Great Foundation Relay Eventbrite page HERE.
Once you’ve registered, we will be in touch via email with information on how you can fundraise.
If you are taking part in any training and/or fundraising in the build-up to the event, we’d love to hear about it!
