26 Nov Foundation Serves Up A Treat
Shopping and modelling at Ladies Who Lunch
Â
This year’s Ladies Who Lunch event was bigger and better than ever with over 220 guests attending in aid of the Town Foundation.
Â
The annual event, sponsored by Louise Woollard LLP, began at 11am on Friday when guests were greeted at the John Smith’s Stadium by a team of volunteers from Barclays Bank.
Â
The executive boxes on the third floor of the Stadium had been turned into pop-up shops for the day and plenty of early Christmas shopping was undertaken. Retailers such as Pandora, Continental Wine and Foods and a number of independents were on show, while the tombola included luxury gifts.
Â
Following lunch in the Revell Ward suite, the guests were treated to a fantastic fashion show which featured 50 volunteer models of all ages, with the youngest was aged just two. From Tots in Tutus courtesy of KT Dance Academy, burlesque dancers, a British Bulldog called ‘Lola’ and a surprise visits from the stars of the Channel 4 programme Educating Yorkshire Matthew Burton and Lynn Rawson, the fashion show simply sparkled.
Â
Host of the event and the Foundation’s Corporate Fundraising Officer Mandy Taylor, said:
Â
“To say that I am overwhelmed by the level of support and goodwill shown to the charity both before and on the day, really is an understatement.Â
Â
“Firstly, I would like to send sincere thanks to our event sponsor Louise Woollard for not only her financial support but also for all her hard work behind the scenes.Â
Â
“I would also like to applaud all the models, businesses, volunteers and the incredible team from Barclays Bank who ensured that the event was a huge success and last but not least, Bernadette Gledhill and her team from Morton Gledhill for ensuring that each and every model felt confident, co-ordinated and looked incredibly stylish on the catwalk.
Â
“Finally, I would like to thank Vicki Davenport and her sister Bev Shelton from The Pink Link ltd who kindly donated £6,000 to the charity ahead of the event.â€
Â
Event sponsor Louise Woollard LLP added:
Â
“Friday the 22nd of November had it all. It united a team of wonderful people behind fashion, fun, fundraising and football.Â
Â
“The ladies lunch and fashion show was a massive success in all respects. We raised a significant amount of money for the Town Foundation and showed what can be achieved by kind hearted people who are prepared to give up their valuable time for those less fortunate.Â
Â
“I would be delighted to financially support similar events in the future and look forward to continuing to work with the Huddersfield Town Foundation”
