Since September 2017, the Town Foundation have partnered with Kirklees College in the delivery of their Football Academy. Students combine their education with high quality football coaching, training up to three times per week while playing competitively in college leagues on a weekly basis.
Male Academy: we have three male teams for the 2018/19 season. Our A team won the Elite League Cat 2B in 2017/18 and are looking to continue their good form with a step up in competition. The B team also play competitively in a league, whereas the C team is a development team for players to grow individually with a view to progressing into the B and A teams. Academy players are also eligible to play at semi-professional level with Emley under 19s.
The Academy is coached by ex-Huddersfield Town player, Kev Donovan (UEFA A).
Female Academy: our female academy continues to grow both in numbers and quality. Since partnering with The Huddersfield Town Foundation, the Academy has become an integral part of our female development pathway. Any female aged 16+ and in education at Kirklees College is eligible to trial for this team.
The Academy is coached by Huddersfield Town Ladies Manager, Ashley Vickers (UEFA B), as well as the Town Foundations’ Women and Girls Coach, Ruby Marlow (Level 2 and ex Tottenham Hotspur player).
