The Steps to Success programme is a collaborative pilot project between The Huddersfield Town Foundation and local secondary schools, incorporating cross working across our Education and Inclusion Departments. The programme seeks to provide opportunities for learning and life skills that help disengaged young people to aspire to reach their potential, regardless of background or ability. Through this programme, we hope to have a positive influence on young people, their choices and future.
Now in its tenth year, the Premier League Enterprise Challenge is an exciting national business and enterprise competition for young people in years 8, 9 and 10. The Challenge offers pupils a fantastic opportunity to work closely with The Huddersfield Town Foundation and come up with a solution to a real life football based problem, with the winning team at the Club heats representing Huddersfield Town in the Regional Play Offs.
Across 10 lessons, students are taught five core reading comprehension skills using engaging football-themed texts. Their progress is then tested in online challenges. Completing the challenges will unlock exclusive video tutorials from top freestyle footballers, which will teach students impressive football tricks.
