The Town Foundation’s Ladies Lunch event raised enough money to serve another 5,000 breakfasts for children in the local area as over 180 ladies enjoyed a day full of fun, glitz and glamour.
The event, which was sponsored by Grand Central by Arriva, took place at the John Smith’s Stadium on Friday 30 November 2018 and has a great impact on the Club’s Early Kick-Off Breakfast Clubs.
Ladies from the local area certainly enjoyed a fun filled day, which began with a glass of fizz on arrival and allowed them to learn more about how the Town Foundation supports the community
Following this fabulous opportunity to get early presents, the Ladies sat down for a two-course lunch before taking part in an exciting ‘In For A Note’ game. Donning a sparkling, silver jacket, Sean Jarvis was the host and asked a series of Town Foundation related questions!
The winning lady, who was handed the prize of tickets for the Live Final of Britain’s Got Talent in 2019, then made the incredible announcement that she was willing for the Town Foundation to run an auction for the tickets, with all the proceeds benefiting the Foundation’s ‘Early Kick-Off Breakfast Clubs’ scheme.
Alongside this, a raffle also took place with a number of prizes donated by Club Partners, these included two tickets to see Take That at the John Smith’s Stadium, a £50 Umbro voucher and double Magnum of Champagne worth £150 donated by Lucas Lee.
Live music was provided throughout the event by Crimson Six who played a mix of rock, pop 80s, soul and funk, before DJ Gemz ended the night. The guests were on their feet until the very end!
Once again, HTAFC supporters are offered a unique opportunity to join Chairman, Dean Hoyle and The Town Foundation Trustee, Janet Hoyle to brave the outdoors for a night at the John Smith’s Stadium in the aim of tackling homelessness.
Following the success of the first Big Sleep Out held in March 2018, the John Smith’s Stadium together with The Town Foundation will open its doors to supporters and local dignitaries to help raise money for local causes supporting the homeless in and around Kirklees.
Participants will brave the elements by spending a night in one of the stands and are asked to raise a minimum of £100 per person, with 100% of funds raised going to local homeless causes.
The challenge will take place on the evening of Friday 8 March 2019, with HTAFC hosting AFC Bournemouth later in the day.
All running costs towards the event will be covered by Dean Hoyle, ensuring every penny raised makes a difference.

Following the success of the campaign and the significant impact on local homeless charities, the ‘Fans for Foodbank’ initiative will continue during the 2018 / 2019 season.
The Town Foundation has joined forces with HTSA and both are appealing to supporters to bring food donations to selected home games throughout the 2018/2019 Premier League season.
Six branded wheelie bins will be placed around the John Smith’s Stadium and one at the Club’s PPG Canalside Training Ground for any home games kicking off at 15:00. The Town Foundation and HTSA will work closely with the community to ensure that all donations are distributed to local foodbanks following the games.
We were completely overwhelmed by the amount of donations received from Huddersfield Town supporters in the 2017 / 2018 season. The initiative demonstrates that we are ‘One Club One Community’ working together making a difference in our local area.
